Emily Starman, DDS, graduated from Luther College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology, and later graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree.  She also completed a Pediatric Dentistry certificate program at the University of Nebraska Medical College.  She started working in dentistry in 2022 and joined Apple Tree in 2024.

Dr. Starman loved going to the dentist as a kid.  Her love of working with people and her interest in science led her to pursue a profession in health care.  She enjoys making a difference in the lives of her patients, and serving those who have a difficult time accessing dental care.  Her special interests include pediatric dentistry and working with patients with special healthcare needs and complex medical histories.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Minnesota Dental Association.  She also has worked with Mission of Mercy and Give Kids A Smile.

Originally from Coralville, Iowa, Dr. Starman now lives in North Mankato with her husband and their dog.  She enjoys volunteering and participating in community events, completing races and triathlons, and being outdoors in general.  She is also a big fan of trying new foods, cooking, reading and learning, and watching a good reality show.
