How to have a conversation with loved ones about the COVID-19 vaccine

November 23, 2021

The Minnesota Department of Health issued a holiday COVID-19 vaccination conversation guide today, which aims to help Minnesotans have productive discussions with loved ones about getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

This guide will be published in various newspapers across the state, including the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, and several outstate newspapers in Mankato, St. Cloud, and other locations.  It is also available on their website now.

Governor Tim Walz applauded the effort, encouraging Minnesotans to have conversations about getting vaccinated: "Your perspective and positive example might be what helps a reluctant family member or friend roll up their sleeves and get their shot."

Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan agreed.  "It might not be easy to talk about the COVID-19 vaccine while gathering this holiday season.  But these helpful tips can lead you to have productive, positive conversations about the value of getting the shot."

Look for the guide in your newspaper on Thursday (Thanksgiving) morning, or check out https://mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/conversations/ to see how you can start productive conversations with your family and friends.
