On May 30, 2025, JAMA Health Forum published an article by researchers Sung Eun Choi, PhD (Harvard School of Dental Medicine) and Lisa Simon, MD, DMD (Brigham and Women's Hospital) entitled "Projected Impact of Removing Fluoride from Public Water Systems in the United States."

The article followed a study that found a very concerning potential impact on the oral health of children nationwide.
