Havva Zeynep Ertugrul, DMD, MS, PhD received her DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed her pediatric dentistry residency program at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, with an MS degree in Pediatric Dentistry. She is a Board Certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Before becooming a pediatric dentist, Dr. Ertugrul also completed a residency program in prosthodontics at Hacettepe University, Turkey, with a PhD degree in prosthodontics, and contriburted to research at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Prosthodontics during her fellowship program. She also treated patients with a focus on maxillofacial prosthodontics in the Advanced Hospital Dentistry program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. She joined Apple Tree Dental in 2024 and is working as a part-time pediatric dentist.
Dr. Ertugrul is currently a clinical adjunct assistant professor at the University of Minnesota Department of Developmental and Surgical Sciences Division of Pediatric Dentistry and is also a pediatric dentist at the Community University Health Care Center (CUHCC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Being in the area of dentistry for more than 20 years and holding two degrees from two different specialties has given Dr. Ertugrul various opportunities to contribute to research, teaching, and clinical aspects of dentistry. She currently utilizes her experience to educate her students (dental therapists, undergrad dental students, pediatric dental residents, medical nurses and residents), patients and their parents, and to improve the quality of life for her pediatric and adolescent patients. In recognition of her professional contributions, Mps. St. Paul Magazine has selected Dr. Ertugrul four years in a row (2021-2024) for the Top Dentists Edition. Dr. Ertugrul is a member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Minnesota Association of Pediatric Dentistry (MAPD), American Dental Association (ADA), Minnesota Dental Association (MDA), and College of Diplomates (COD). She has hospital affiliations with Children's Hospital, Minnetonka, and Regions Hospital.
Dr. Ertugrul grew up alpine skiing, which became her first profession, then turned into a hobby when she started her dental education. In addition to skiing, she also enjoys swimming, yoga, having long walks with her husband and their dog, supporting animal rescue gorups, helping homeless populations, and traveling around the world.
