Melissa "Missy" Herbst started at Apple Tree Dental in 2001 as a dental assistant, and later became the Center Director for the Mounds View Center, the Twin Cities Regional Director, and in 2026 became Apple Tree's Chief Operating Officer.

Missy loves helping others and giving back to the community. Apple Tree's community outreach program, providing essential services to elders, drew her in initially and really fit her values, along with Apple Tree's overall mission. Her favorite part of the job is that the work is extremely rewarding and fulfilling, and it's a great feeling to make a difference while helping patients who face so many barriers.

Outside of work, Missy loves to spend time with her family, including her husband and four children.
